This program is open to all, and it is perfect for walkers or new runners who are looking to complete their first 5k or improve their time!
This will be a 12 week training program, and we will meet Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:15 a.m. (duplicate workouts) as well as Saturdays at 8:15 a.m. The cost for the entire program is $100. You can signup here online, or in person in our store.
We will also give you a training plan to follow the rest of the week so that you stay on track with your training runs/walks. Our program will offer a steady progression that is appropriate for anyone who is committed to the program. We will have an informational meeting at the store at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, and our first workout will be that following Tuesday (April 25).
For training days, we will separate into different pace groups, and each will have a different leader. We will run/walk in the neighborhood across the street, down Carmel Valley Rd, and on the 56 bike path. Group members will be able to attend both weekday workouts, but the schedule is set up for those with commitments to be able to choose one weekday workout to go with the Saturday session. We will have informational talks before each Saturday session with topics ranging from shoe choice and running form to gear, injury prevention, nutrition, and recovery.
Each participant will receive multiple discounts in our store during the program as well as prizes over the course of the program in addition to a Fleet Feet San Diego specific race shirt. There will be a special award based on attendance as well.
